Isn’t it simply divine? I found it in Plastique’s Etsy Shop, and now I never want to take it off. It’s made of a hard, transparent plastic and is just the right size:

Big enough to show clearly from a slight distance, but not so big it’ll be a hassle to wear. The chain is just the right length, too (I’ll show you sometime in an outfit post). It is very fragile, though – I managed to break mine in the middle of the “v” while pressing it to my body (I was stupid and thought I’d see if I could make it say “helvetica” on my skin – I blame a temporary moment of insanity). Boyfriend managed to glue it together perfectly, though, to my great relief, and now I have a (slightly embarrassing) story to go with it. The break was definitely my fault, though, and not because of bad construction. It’s just a fragile little thing, that’s all, and I’ll take proper care of it from now on.
I suppose it should be called a statement necklace, defining the wearer as a font nerd for those in the know – and confusing the people who don’t know that helvetica is simply an iconic font. The confusions here are endless, especially when considering that the Norwegian word for hell is helvete. Oh, well, I’ll brave their ignorance any day for such a beauty. At least my wonderful readers will know the true meaning behind it.

It’s here, it’s here! In my eBay-post a few days ago I mentioned I’d ordered a petticoat, and here it is, in all its mint green tulle-ness. Fantastic, isn’t it? I’m so glad I decided to buy it – if I’d found a skirt like this on H&M for 270,- NOK I wouldn’t have hesitated for a minute, and this is even better as nobody I know has got one like it.

The bottom is deliciously full, and you should see how it moves (you know I have a weakness for clothes that move beautifully). The colour is gorgeous, too. I decided to get this mint green because it would be a bit more special than a plain old white or black, and I’m very happy with it.

As it is meant to go underneath a normal skirt or dress, the top part is rather transparent (this is just beneath the waistband). Because of this I’ll have to wear some sort of slip underneath it if I don’t want to put another skirt on top – I have a secret plan to ask Cindy help me figure out something clever when I see her next week. The only negative about the skirt itself was this big tag that had been sewn to the inside of the skirt, as it was clearly visible (which wouldn’t be a problem if I was going to use it as intended, but I quite like this underwear-as-outerwear-thing that’s going on now). I had to tear a short part of the seam to remove the tag, but it doesn’t show unless you know where to look.
If anybody else fell in love right now, I suggest you head over to this shop on eBay to have a look at what they’ve got. The one I bought can be found here, and I just now realized that it doesn’t look exactly like the one in the product picture, which is a bit strange. I still recommend this seller, though, as they replied to my questions about the shipping cost the same day, and the shipping was very fast (nine days). You might want to contact them if you’re very particular about which petticoat you’ll get – I have to confess anything mint green and poofy would make me satisfied

Very well, all you experienced e-Bayers may now laugh, I don’t mind. I’m glad I waited – it made the whole experience more special, and I’m sure my bank account is rather grateful. But joining eBay cannot be undone (actually, it probably can, I meant on a shopaholic level), and so far it’s been a wonderful experience.
The whole thing started with me finding the perfect lipstick, the only good part of that dreadful HairWoman-experience. You see, even though the colour they used looked horrible on me, the lipstick lasted forever.
(Here I digressed and started praising said lipstick to the skies, then decided that it deserves a post of its own. This post was supposed to be about eBay, after all.)
The lipstick turned out to be ”Sebastian Trucco Matte”, and I immediately searched for it in the usual places (Strawberrynet, FeelUnique, and even Lookfantastic, which I use only when desperate as they don’t have free shipping), but to no avail. Turns out the brand has been discontinued. Discontinued.
I decided to give it one last, desperate attempt, and opened eBay to search for the lipstick. And what do you think? Fourteen results! I decided to go for this one, as it seemed a good colour for me and it was rather inexpensive (23,- NOK). Then the shopaholic in me took over and decided I might as well buy two. It is discontinued, after all, and might disappear forever!
I ordered the lipstick on February the 2nd, and it arrived here without any troubles on February the 10th (and it’s perfect!). My first eBay-experience was 100% positive, and I’m glad I decided to give it a go. You see, there is now a gorgeous mint green tulle petticoat coming my way – something I’d never have found in a shop up here in boring old Tromsø. That’s all I’ve ordered this far (I’ve been a really good girl!), but I’m still on the lookout for trustworthy sellers with special items.
Do you do eBay, darlings? Any sellers to recommend?

I love lists, it’s no secret. My dashboard (on the MacBook, not in a car) is packed with yellow post-its with random notes on them, such as “George do it: a work evading phrase in flapper slang”, “text-transform: lowercase/ uppercase” or simply “ALICE IN WONDERLAND!!!”. But my lists tend to be all over the place (literally), and even though I find hand written ones much more charming, I always end up writing a lot of them on my MacBook anyway, saved as plain text documents in various folders where I can never find them again.
Enter Listography! Even though it doesn’t work perfectly in my prefered browser (Safari), I’m actually willing to open Firefox to adjust my settings now and then simply because it’s a wonderful site. It keeps me organized too, which always makes me tick (such as when I discovered Weheartit, remember?). I’ll still be writing lists here in the blog, but listography is great for a quickie, or for those lists that aren’t about fashion-related things.
Are you on Listography? Do let me know your url so I can come visit!
