I’m still here
by Maria

Yes, still here, just a bit… well, you know. Blue. The problem is that once you haven’t blogged in, say, two weeks, it feels like your next post has to be super-epic to make up for your absence. But because of the reason for your absence, a super-epic post just isn’t doable. That doesn’t mean there aren’t other people out there capable of it, though, and I thought I’d share a few of my favourites:
– Dearest Maja has written three extra-wonderful posts lately. The first one contains the first and only picture of us two toghether, so it’s practically historic. The second is about our closet bootcamp, where I basically got to go through her entire closet and speak my mind about it. She handled it admirably, I must say. And last, she wrote a fantastic post about how to do a closet bootcamp yourself, in case you haven’t got a Maria around to help you.
– Julia collects the most wonderful photos from all over the web. Here’s one about Halloween, and one about hair.
– Drifter Regalia wrote about her own wardrobe staples and how they differ from the traditional “white shirt, black pants”-articles you find in most books and magazine. It was actually inspired by one of my own post, and it made me very happy/flattered that she was so inspired by it.
– Egwene wrote so beautifully about being in love that I had to punch a pillow out of jealousy. You really should read it, though, as it is wonderful to see that there are people out there experiencing such happiness – just keep a pillow handy if you’re a bit… disadvantaged in the love department these days.
– I finally found a blog with girls who dress vintage, but still don’t look like pin-up girls (don’t get me wrong, I love the pin-up style, but there were other ways to dress in the 40s and 50s, too, and they’re sadly underrepresented). It’s called Bright Young Twins.
– Lastly, although not strictly a blog, I have to tip you off about Pinterest. Put short, it’s a place where you collect images from the web, and it also saves a link to the original place you found them (so no more “google.com” or “weheartit” as your image sources!). It is similar to Weheartit, but much better, as you can collect your images in various boards. I’ve already made one for Maja and one for adorable Ingvild, to show them fashion-related things I think they ought to see after I helped them sort out their closet. Also, I have boards for pretty much every aspect of my life, including fashion inspiration, hair/makeup, nail inspiration and pretty accessories. What can I say, I’m addicted, and I’d love for you to join me. If you need an invite, just let me know in a comment and I’ll send you one!

PS: Maja wanted me to make my blue girl illustration into a desktop wallpaper, so I thought I’d put it up here in case anyone else wants it, too. Here is the original version, and here is a mirrored version (in case you’re like me and keep all the mess on your desktop on the right-hand side).
The drawing is my desktop background now! Lovely link post darling, and it really doesn´t matter if you don´t post frequently ALL the time – we´re her regardless!
You’re here! *happy*
Mmm I agree with Maja -we are here if you post once a day or once a month! <3
<3
Here here! One for all and all for Maria! A cheer for you inspired by the new Three Musketeers movie (although judging by the trailers, it seems more like another Pirates of the Caribean sequel)
I will simply HAVE to look into Pinterest. If by the off chance that Fashion doesn’t work out (like global warming turning out to be a good thing and the Earth becomes a comfortably neutral temperature thereby rendering the use of clothing obsolete), you would be a wonderful saleswoman. The Used Car industry weeps at the loss of your skills.
Picasso had a Blue period, so you are most certainly entitled to one. Just remember that you are Fabulous and will always have someone reading and loving what you have to say even if she happens to be on another continent(I mention my nationality a lot, don’t I?)
“Be Stylish. Always.”
p.s.: I finally checked my e-mail and saw your message, so I did change the settings for my blog. People can comment now! *Not so subtle nudge.*
*takes a big bow while sweeping off enormous, plumed hat* Thank you, milady!
Pinterest is completely addictive. Ye be warned. Why don’t you give me your user name there so I can follow your pins?
The Used Car industry is slightly tempting, especially after having just seen the movie Drive (like a cross between Lost in Translation and León, how could I not love it?). I think I’d have a problem with fibbing, though – I could never allow anyone to buy stuff that isn’t good, not to mention persuade them to do so.
Thank you for changing your comment settings! I’ll definitely come visiting
LINK LOVE! ^_~ *likes* *explores* *getslostfordays*
Your blue girl is absolutely lovely (but lonely too)…She’s quietly floating in my background now. I’d have preferred it with the words though. Those three syllables gave such a nuanced touch (and I’ve always liked your handwriting
Posting on a fixed schedule is overrated. Quality over quantity and all that ^_^ And it’s quality that keeps me coming back here for my style fixes: The quality of FABULOUSNESS that is!!
Please continue to be stylish! Always!
(Btw, I can’t believe you featured my blog on a list of ‘super-epic posts’!! *happyskippydance* That really made my day! ^o^)
Haha, oh, wonderful comment, darling! I did consider leaving the words there, but then decided it felt a little to emo for my liking. It is one thing to be depressed and self-absorbed in my own blog; quite another to be so at your desktops
And your post deserved it. Peeking into other people’s sartorial minds is one of my favourite pastimes.
