Beautiful Cinemagraphs

From Wikipeida: Cinemagraphs are still photographs in which a minor and repeated movement action occurs.
See, this is the kind of thing that really makes my heart beat faster and my I-need-to-do-something-creative-fingers restless. Cinemagraphs are the invention of photographer/blogger Jamie Beck and visual graphics artist Kevin Burg, and all the ones in this post are from their page (link further down).
It is a process where a video turns into a photograph, and the result is slightly eerie, very beautiful and pretty much magical. If you are a bit of a nerd and want to have a go at it yourself, here is a tutorial that is quite understandable.
If you just want to read more about it, this interview with Beck is great. And if you simply want to be amazed, this site contains all Beck/Burg-made cinemagraphs.

Yeah, they are definitely gif-files, but I think these look more cinematic and complicated than pretty much every “normal” gif I’ve ever seen
