Graduation

by Maria

My class and the teachers had a lovely party the evening before graduation. I wore my new pink wig (almost like Scarlett in Lost in Translation, except mine is a bit longer), and a dark smokey eye, and the class assistant gave us all diplomas – you know, like “Grandma of the year” or “The creative one”. I was awarded “Pink Lady”, which was quite funny as they’d made the diplomas before I showed up in that pink wig. I do have a fondness for pink, though, and I definitely try to be a lady, so my title was rather perfect, don’t you think?

On graduation day itself, Cookie came to school with me, and everyone got their diplomas and hugged a lot. Now, us Norwegians aren’t prone to saying nice things about ourselves, but I’m so proud I simply have to share my joy: I was top of my class, with an average of 5,6 (we’re graded from 1-6, with 6 being the highest), and this means I GET TO GO TO LONDON FASHION WEEK!

Imageakademiet has this competition, you see, where the top student wins said trip, with travel and stay paid for by the school. I still haven’t gotten over the shock yet, but London Fashion Week isn’t until September, so I have lots of time to realize I’m actually going. I’m going. I’m going to London Fashion Week. I’m going to London Fashion Week, and I promise to tell you absolutely everything!
