Just a quick post to let you all know that I’m back in Tromsø, which also means that I’m back to my favourite hair treatment, Aussie’s Three Minute Miracle. I got this in a giveaway at one of my must-read blogs, Cherry Chapstick, a while back, and have been addicted to it ever since. I usually shun strongly moisturizing hair products, simply because they’ve always, always made my hair look lank and greasy. This little miracle is the only one I’ve tried (and I’ve tried many!) that simply makes my hair look healthy and shiny, and I’ll never use a different hair treatment again. Definitely recommended!
… is stomping through the world in steampunk’y boots and a dream of a dress. A warm yellow nailpolish and a slightly dangerous octopus are small, but important details, as are the eccentric glasses. What really makes me tick, though, is that impressive statement of a hairstyle (which I intend to copy once I get home to all my superstrong hair products). If I had to wear one look every day for the rest of my life, this would be it.

Being back in the town where I grew up means a lot of things. It means I can spend time with my little sisters, who are without a doubt the best sisters in the world (and yes, I will fight you over that one!). It means missing my boyfriend, who’s still back in Tromsø. It means not having to pay for any food for as long as I’m here. It also means that sometimes my mother decides I’ve earned a little something if I’ve helped her with the housework, and sends me out with the permission to “find myself something pretty” and pay for it with her credit card – like these incredibly soft denim shorts from H&M.

It also means that I’m able to find this gorgeous necklace with a 50% discount, since nobody in this city seem to care much about fashion (with a few, crucial exceptions, of course) and lovely things end up on sale. I actually featured this in one of my polyvores in a post about packing a while ago – and now I can wear it myself on holiday in Spain in August!

This city also has a weird little Chinese shop that is packed with home decorating items and accessories. Yesterday they coincidently had a 50% sale on everything in the shop, and I couldn’t resist this necklace (the colours remind me of the movie Memoirs of a Geisha – if you haven’t seen it yet I highly recommend it, by the way).

This ring also accompanied me home, since it’s the perfect size, colour and shape. I plan to wear it on my middle finger on those days when I need a quick fix to improve an outfit.
PS: Yes, the title of this post is also the title of a Spice Girls song. I couldn’t help it, since it fit oh-so-perfectly with the post.

Dress: Indiska, belt: Fretex, studded bracelet: Lindex, tights: random, shoes: Converse.
Right, so about five minutes after I’d posted about my DIY-dress last night I was overwhelmed by fatigue and had to go to bed. Woke up today with an incredible sore throat and aching head, so it might take a few days to finish the dress, but I’ll post lots of pictures when it’s done! In the meantime I thought I’d show you what I wore for ice cream with Ingvild today – I’m way too much in love with the dress, considering the fact that it belongs to my mother…
