Lately I’ve been reading Lolita, bought some mineral makeup at an incredibly low price at strawberrynet, created my own feathery headband, and started taking a new medicine. It’s supposed to fix my lungs, which have been working really badly ever since I had pneumonia in September. Oh, I’ve also been working on updating my underwear drawer, since it’s been pitifully ignored for way too long. I came up with this brilliant plan of buying only red knickers from now on (as any day that starts with red lingerie has to become a good day), but these ones were the only red ones I could find in the entire city. Who suddenly decided that every pair of knickers have to be in a boring white or decorated with Snoopy? Give the people red lace, I say!

I’ve been slightly absent the past few days, I’m sorry – but it is my pleasure to tell you that I’ve passed my exam in pedagogics (I got an A, actually, huzza!), and is now officially a music/vocal teacher… how weird is that? Yes, I agree, very weird indeed. This is what I wore when the class was going out to celebrate. It is actually around 9 p.m., it just doesn’t get dark up here at nights any more.

You know those days when you feel like you lost a couple of layers of skin while you slept? When you wake up feeling vulnerable, frightened and fragile?

On those days, the only thing that can save me is listening to Tori Amos, preferably tucked into a blanket and sitting very still so I won’t fall apart.

Yesterday I read that Tori’s just released a new album with the brilliant title “Abnormally Attrackted To Sin” (why, oh, why couldn’t I come up with that title? It is too perfect).

It is currently on its way home to me, and can hopefully cure me of whatever blues it is I’m suffering from these days. Even if this album doesn’t become a personal favourite such as “Scarlet’s Walk”, the artwork and styling is enough to make even the worst day just that tiny bit better. Thank you, Tori, and thank you, Karen Collins.
